X Factor USA Gives Us A Tearful Elimination

It was a night of ultimate heartbreak for one contestant and complete shock for the judging panel who never saw this result coming, actually no one saw it happening.

The night before the contestants had to perform two songs each for the first time in the show, Marcus Canty and Rachel Crow found themselves in the bottom after America voted, Marcus Canty was facing the exit door for the third time in a row.

Marcus Canty performed I’m Going Down by Rose Royce and the Pips whilst Rachel Crow sang her rendition of I’d Rather Go Blind by Etta James, both acts nailed there performances, giving it 110% and not letting the occasion bring them down.

After the performances the judges gave their votes, which produced a deadlock Reid and Scherzinger opting to elimated Rachel and the other two to eliminate Marcus. As it was tied the decision was left to the public votes, with the lowest votes being elimiated, Rachel Crow has the least votes and therfore was eliminated.

The decision was shock to Simon Cowell her mentor who reflected that he did not see this coming, LA Reid was also surpised at the result but grateful his act was staying to fight another night. The judge who took the decision the hardest despite voting to eliminate her was Nicole Scherzinger. Nicole was seen backstage in some distress admitting she didn’t mean to eliminate the girl.

  why is that simon gets to add another person making it 17 and then has a fit when drew got bounced? it’s all about ego issues between the judges. made to look like fierce competition but i can’t help feel that it’s a put on for our ‘enjoyment”. I want Dexter back but i don’t blame him for bowing out. what stupid song choices were made for him. aerosmith, funk, the stones and other stuff was right for him. he may be derivative in style but he was fun to watch and i was pulling for him.

    you are right richard. weve had the x factor in england for years. simon did the same here and bought back an act. he also sacked a judge and then bought him back. he likes to create drama. says its good for ratings. he is a businessman after all

Nicole took the easy way out. Played it safe for herself. Didn’t want to decide…you are a judge. If you had gone with the right thing to do a little girl wouldn’t be heart broken. Leaving Marcus in was wrong. I like him but he has been in the bottom 3, three times!

Rachel was my pick to go all the way from her first audition…she has more talent, for her age, in her little finger, than all of the other contestans and the judges. I agree with the other comments about Nicole. She has no backbone and she tries to be a pleaser, she is not a qualified judge. I only hope the Rachel can go on in this business she can go along way and could be the next teen-preteen pop star. Marcus obviously is not the public at large pick. Last nite was a BIG mistake!!!!!

  Embarrassing…seriously Simon I know you are kicking yourself in you underpants right now Nicole just messed your show up something fierce. It’s obvious during rehearsals people pumped Rachael up how else does a look of shock like that hit someone unless EVERYONE including Simon told her she was good. What a let down. Now I have to hear Marcus and his screechy voice another week bleh. Also someone please let Nicole know she was not doing her job and anywhere else she would have been replaced so as to not f:&# up again.

The Xfactor should be renamed the Y factor. Y is Rachel gone, Y is Nichol a judge, Y am I still watching. Think I’ll wait for American Idol where All the judges have musical knowledge. Unlike the poor excuse for a judge Nichol. Let’s eliminate her!

Rachel should still be in the compitition, Nicole did the wrong thing. She is a judge and she copt out. Rachel Crow is such a talent. I hope Simon signs her because she will be a hit one day. Nicole maybe you should consider NOT being a judge next year if you cannot make a choice. Marcus has been in the bottom three times now-he should have gone HOME. So sad. Rachel you were not the only one crying about this very bad decision last night. You had me from day one and you still do. When your first record comes out I will be sure to buy it. Nicole you should be ashamed of yourself. Rachel did a better job on her “save me song” than Marcus did.

Nicole needs to be eliminated from this show, not Rachel Crow, she is an amazing singer….. Nicole is a fool and LA is arrogant!!! They’re both only concerned for themselves, and making decisions they way they have makes them look selfish and ignorant. Can someone explain to me the purpose of a “save me song?” Shouldn’t the judges be required to judge based on the performance of that final song? Clearly Rachel’s performance exceeded Marcus’s performance by a land-slide. It is unfortunate and unfair that this young girl was sent home because a judge could not make a fair decision, based on an obviously exceptional performance. A judge should only go to a deadlock when there is no other alternative, not because you cannot make a logical decision. I have enjoyed both Rachel and Marcus, but comparing last nights performance….hands down Rachel has proven to be the more talented.

We shouldn’t be too harsh on Nicole. I was just as sure that the votes would save Rachel. But as a judge who clearly saw the same performance the rest of us saw, she should have done the right thing.

  I am through with the X-Factor, I ditto all of the above mentioned comments. Anyone that had any common sense knew who the winner was that night. For a judge who was placed on the show to be a judge and judge someone with an X-FACTOR, what is sense of having a sing off. Even LA who in his heart knew who the winner was had to stick with his guy. My husband and I are done with the so called X-FACTOR…JOKE.

Rachel was the better singer in the sing off and it was so heartbreaking to watch her get eliminated off. I am sure it won’t be the end for her as she has it all to be a star,Simon will make sure she is okay.Chin up Rachel you are amazing.

Okay..this is what I do not understand. Nicole gives RACHEL a standing ovation…yet she cannot make a decision….hmm…point blank, this girl is supposed to be a judge and she can’t even do that. It doesn’t take a lot of brains to know that Rachel was a better singer… love Marcus and all..but I thought this show was about who can make it as a star… and between Marcus and Rachel…welll the girl got it. Overall Marcus has delivered, Rachel is alright but she has not been the strongest singer of the competition and if everyone liked her she would still be in the competition

X-factor is done, the whole principle of having four judges is useless, it seems that only Simon understands the rules and judges the contestants on their merit; as for Nicole, she sshouldn’t be there, LA has the expertise but is too self centered and bias; I feel that he should have sent Marcus home; no matter what, on merit only, he should have done it, and would have earned our respect as a judge and an expert. Simon, please, take back the control of that show, it is your monney on the line; they are sabotaging your show!!!!!!

It is all down to personal opinion, I thought Marcus was brilliant with his save me song. Lots of people must agree with me otherwise Rachael would not have gone home. Nicole may have voted for deadlock because they were both good.

Call me crazy but why do people like the Chris whats his name so much. He has the look and the attitude but his performance live is cr@p except for the song he wrote himself on last wednsday. To me if you can’t perorm live you blah. Thank goodness Asstro gone who doesn’t even know how to sing…..Now back to Rachel.. A girl who sweet and polite and refreshing. A girl who had awsome parents for her to be this way. One more thing. She’s also the girl who one of top 3 singers in compition because she CAN sing.

Why did Simon give Drew a standing ovation after she sang her “save me” song, which was good but pitchy; however, he did not give Rachel a standing ovation. I believe it hurt Rachel that he did not stand and fight for her. Paula and Nicole stood and applauded after she sang, and Paula even tried to coax Simon to stand but he never did. I don’t understand why he was so passionate over Drew but not Rachel. Drew deserved to go home, IMO. Watching back her past performances, Drew was consistently pitchy for three weeks in a row. Rachel however has never sang a note off-key. I don’t feel like she was supported by Simon as much as the other two girls and if he had fought for her like he did for Drew I believe Nicole, who is easily swayed, would have surcombed to the emotions. JMO

A superb performance to both Rachael and Marcus, however Rachael performed the save me song way better then Marcus on that day, given that Marcus was at the bottom three for the last consecutive weeks, it’s a signal to the judges that his on his way being eliminated. Secondly Nicole needs to get her emotional melodrama checked, if she cannot make a decision, why take up the offer of being Judge, hello American Idol has been in industry for the past 8 years, and every American who watches the show knows very well the pressure this Judges will go through, It is very dissappointing that Nicole cannot not make the decision and her emotions got the better of her which utterly dissappointingly led to Rachael being eliminated, she did not take responsibility in making a decision, this goes to show her level of maturity, and to be comforted by a 13 year old after the show, goodness me. We do not want another Christ breezy….. if LA Reid looking into that perspective of making Marcus into, we need alot of Adelle, Christina Perri, Amy Winehouse kind of voices etc. Enough with the Chris Breezy, Reihana, Beyonce, mind you I do like this singers but music should be inspiring it tells a story and not how many girls you slept with and whose banging who…money lovemaking machine etc……on another note Nicole might have been scared to make the decision, given LA Reid’s connection with alot of R&B producers, so maybe she was playing it safe, only time will tell, given she is in the process of compiling another album. This showed is flawed. The rules were not constructed correctly and the integrity of the show is in question. The purpose of the save me song is useless under the current way. Nicole is only good for eye candy, they should just make her the host. Rachel performed her heart out and got crushed. America judged her on her previous performance not the save me song. I will most likely not watch this show next season.
